EPS Components

ReGIS is the domestic RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) system, managed by the National Bank of Romania, which provides the final and irrevocable settlement, in real time, of high-value, urgent payments, whether they are payments between participants, instructions received from clearing systems (houses) or from systems that provide the settlement of transactions with financial instruments. This system is characterized by the relatively small number of daily transactions (thousands), high individual value of transactions and the use of the SWIFT network for submitting transfer orders.

Participants and payment types

• National Bank of Romania (NBR);
• Banks and credit unions head offices or other credit institutions (e.g.: mortgage credit companies) licensed by the NBR;
• The State Treasury;
• SaFIR;
• The clearing houses licensed by the NBR (SENT, RoClear, DSClear);
• VISA and MASTERCARD clearing houses.
